Reconciliation Service, March 27th, 8 p.m.
It is always a risk that we identify ourselves by our sins rather than our graces. That is our way, not God’s. In the eyes of God all was good, original blessing rather than original sin. Yet, sin is a reality. As Christians, we know this but as Christians we know more. We know “God does not hold our sins against us and the good news is that we are reconciled”. (“ Cor.5.16) We are reminded in lent that “Even if our sins are like scarlet, they will be white as snow; even if red as crimson, they will be white as wool”. (Is 1.18-19)
We do not take in that truth simply as words. The wisdom of Christ comes in word and sacrament. It comes to us as community, where we celebrate his limitless pardon as a group, learning to forgive each other and experience forgiveness in our own hearts. Our Holy Week Reconciliation Service welcomes sinners to experience Christ’s peace and pardon.
