At Home with  your Bible

Book of ActsThe Bible course in Croì Nua starts the Acts of the Apostles this Autumn term. Luke’s gospel has just been completed and the great journey of Jesus from Galilee to Jerusalem now leads to the journey “from Jerusalem, to Judeae, to Samaria and to the ends of the world.”

Studying Acts seems very appropriate at this time as a new alertness is stirred up in the Church by the words and actions of Pope Francis. We are in a new time of grace and hope. People sense a new opportunity is there to be touched by God’s Spirit and to be saturated by the energy of the Risen Christ. Such hopes connect very deeply with the Acts of the Apostles where the first Christians experience Jesus as alive among them and as doing great things in the power of the Holy Spirit. We need that energy of the Spirit today and this course will keep alerting us to the energy and power and charisms given to us and how they can transform our church today.
