Care For The Universe Our Common Home

Fr Donal Dorr

Fr. Donal Dorr is a missionary priest and theologian. During the 1970 and 1980s he worked for some years as a missionary in several African countries and, more briefly, in Brazil. In the 1980s he was a consultor to the Pontifical Commission for Justice and Peace. The main focus of his work at home and abroad has been on empowering grassroots activists in working for justice and care for the environment, and in running spirituality workshops for people who are searching for meaning and purpose in their lives. Recently he has been deeply involved in running seminars and workshops on ecology, with special emphasis on the ecology encyclical of pope Francis Laudato Si’. An expanded edition of his book, “Option for the Poor and for the Earth: Catholic Social Teaching”, was published by Orbis Books in July 2016. His previous books include “Spirituality and Justice”, “The Social Justice Agenda”, “Integral Spirituality”, “Conversion and Holiness”: “The Teaching of John Wesley”, and “The Spirituality of Leadership”.
