Life is entering into the dream of God for us. Even before time was God had a dream, a dream so powerful that we have creation in all its variety, beauty, power. The dream is so close to our hearts that God has shared our life. “The Word became flesh and lived among us”. The dream is so powerful that we have resurrection. What God does is resurrection for his Son and for all.
The first book of revelation God gives us in our world. He meets us there, feeds us, enlightens us, bonds us to each other. We needed more so we have the long story of God meeting us, in the prophets and promises of the Old Testament, from Abraham to Mary.
Our Scriptures are God’s Word, inspired by his Holy Spirit. They are the word of God, they are his heart revealed, the mystery opened up for us. They tell us the word became flesh. They tell us, too, that the Word has to become flesh in each generation, in each culture and time, so we can hear Jesus words applying to ourselves: “Today these words are being fulfilled even as you listen”. (Luke 4.)
In Croí Nua Centre, we try to make the Scriptures alive for people. This year we are starting Luke’s Gospel. Our study will be parallel to the Sunday readings in Church. Our hope is that the study will invite us all to let the word of God form us, or transform us into our best selves, to let the Word become flesh in our lives, bringing courage, comfort, hope and joy.
Every Tuesday, from 10.15 to 12.25 there is a bible study and this is repeated on Tuesday night, 7.20 t0 9.30.
