God’s Mercy & Love as in Parable of Prodigal Son
Fr. Patsy Kelly
What’s it all about?
What’s in it for me?
Will it make any difference to me or to our world?
Facilitator: Patsy Kelly MSC
When inaugurating the Jubilee Year of Mercy Pope Francis noted that, “Jesus Christ is the face of the Father’s mercy” (Misericordiae Vultus 1). Another way of expressing this is to say that Christ is the ‘loving kindness of the heart of our God’.
The Bible Course this term will explore the Father’s Mercy, with special emphasis on the extraordinary parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15) and discover the infinite depths of Mercy that the heart of Christ reveals for each of us personally.
Our challenge is to become like the merciful Father / Mother, who is always there to embrace and love us. Likewise, we should be for each other, be rich in compassion and mercy to each person we meet, especially to those distant from us. The gives mercy a human and divine face.
